Microsoft 3D Fluent
The 3D Microsoft Fluent emojis are glossy, gradient-heavy versions of the Microsoft Fluent emoji designs used within Windows 11. These 3D Fluent designs can be found within select flagship Microsoft applications such as Word and PowerPoint following the launch of Windows 23H2 on 31 October 2023.
These designs are implemented via Microsoft’s COLRv1 color font.
Originally previewed ahead of World Emoji Day 2021, the 3D Fluent emoji set first made its official debut within the emoji keyboard of Microsoft Teams in February 2022. At the time of launch over 800 3D Fluent designs also featured animation within the communication platform.
A flat block-color version of the Fluent emoji set has been used as the default font for Microsoft devices since November 2021. Those designs will continue to be the default emoji design displayed by the Segoe UI Emoji font within the Windows 23H2 update.
